Tom: Hi there David. My son uses AppleWorks on our Mac G5 and just in the past couple of weeks he noticed that when he typed a full page like if you do in a term paper and he views it in preview some of the words on the right hand side are cut off. Now this is even with a 1 inch margin and then when he prints it out that*s exactly what happens some of the letters are cut off and you know when he is typing it you see the whole page.

David Lawrence: Yeah he should check his rulers and make sure that the margin settings are not inside the left and right typeable area diamonds. This happens sometimes where you get the document settings reversed with the page settings like you put a ruler in there and you say okay you know on this particular line I want it to be centered. I want it to be centered within and I want the margins to be 3 inches on either side because I don*t want, I want it to be a title like thing. And instead of pulling in the page margins you actually pull in the line margins and if you get those two reversed you are going to cut off your type. Now one thing you can do is your can also check the Print Preview.

Tom: Yes.

David Lawrence: If the Print Preview is showing it printing properly, there maybe an issue with the driver that you are using, it maybe damaged but usually it*s just a matter of getting the rulers setup properly.

Tom: Right I believe that when he did check the preview it was just on the right hand side it was cut off.

David Lawrence: Yeah so in that case that tells me that it*s going to print that*s good that means the driver is working properly.

Tom: Oh great.

David Lawrence: So I would check the rulers. What I would, is it with all documents or just one or two?

Tom: You know it*s just when he has a full page printed. In other words if he didn*t go to the end of the right hand margin then it wouldn*t happen so.

David Lawrence: Right I understand that but is it on any document he creates even from scratch?

Tom: Oh yes.
