Carl: Yes.

David Lawrence: Okay.

Carl: So I have called my ISP multiple times about this issue. It's been that I haven*t been able to on random days there is no--

David Lawrence: Login yeah.

Carl: Not be able to login or access the Internet through Internet Explorer and so I have called them and then it will be fixed for maybe 2, 3 days at best 2 weeks and then it won't work again. And my uncle has the same ISP with all the same equipment and he*s never had a problem with it and I want to know what I can do to fix.

David Lawrence: So I don*t know if there is anything you can do to fix it. It maybe your card, well this is one of those things we have to look at every link in the chain to see whether or not there is some issue involved in that particular link. So it goes from your processor to the Ethernet card right which is plugged-in to the bus. The Ethernet card has a cable coming out of it that either goes into a router or goes into the DSL modem itself. Then you have the DSL modem which has a phone line associated with it. The phone line goes into the wall there is wall plug, there is wiring that goes to the central office and so on. So what you have to do is start to eliminate the problems along the line. Now if something works for a good period of time and there is a good chance it's not the Ethernet cable and it's not the phone line. It's also probably not the Ethernet

card. It maybe the DSL modem because the modem is controlled both by your computer and by your ISP, there maybe something there. It maybe the router where you are losing the use of the service to the router through services that expire. But most likely it is something with the phone company you use services the wiring the repeaters and so. It's not something that you have a lot of control over. So you have to work with the ISP to figure it out.
