David Lawrence: Oh my pleasure.
Margaret: I am calling from Chicago off of a WGN.
David Lawrence: The big flame thrower the--
Margaret: Yes and that's--tonight so we are all happy here.
David Lawrence: That's right there you go.
Margaret: Okay my question today is when I have my old computer it ran on Windows 98. I was able to and it was a dial up modem. And the phone calls will come in and it would interrupt the Internet which is what I wanted.
David Lawrence: Okay.
Margaret: Now I have got two Windows XPs one is a laptop and one is new Desktop.
David Lawrence: Right.
Margaret: And I can't get it to do it. Now is there a piece of software I can go out and buy?
David Lawrence: Sure.
Margaret: That will do that?
David Lawrence: Sure. And here is the thing to do I don*t, so few people use dial up anymore. This question hasn*t come up in a couple of years easy and I don*t know what's available out there. It used to be that there was a company called was it Online Call Waiting. There are number of different companies out there that sell software that are XP and Mac compatible that actually would do exactly what you want. Now it doesn*t do it the way you described though. It doesn*t knock you offline. What it does is a little window will pop up and say hey you are getting a call from so and so do you want to take it?
Margaret: Right. That's what the other one would do after I had replaced the modem in the old machine the software it was called I think Simply BitWare.
David Lawrence: Okay I have never heard of that before but okay.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
