David Lawrence: What do you have on your, are you using dial up or you are using ---?

Lindsay: Dial up.

David Lawrence: Oh you are using dial up. I don*t know what would be causing that. You might have a tech walk through your boot process one step at a time or you can walk through at one step at a time if you know how boot up and watch your machine as it boots up and grab it as it boots up and let it boot up one step at a time where you actually hit the space bar as it loads things and you can actually watch what happens and see what triggers that event from going on. Now is this happening before Windows loads or after?

Lindsay: After.

David Lawrence: Okay so it*s obviously something that*s being run in the startup group or outside the startup group being caused by some non standard software like a virus or spyware.

Lindsay: Well I did a search on Google and the closest thing I could come up with was something about a Cisco router or yeah a Cisco router causing this but I don*t have one.

David Lawrence: Right now I understand that but what could have been deposited on your machine was software that would run a Cisco router if you had one.

Lindsay: Okay.

David Lawrence: Is this a used machine by any chance?

Lindsay: No.

David Lawrence: Okay so it maybe and again it maybe the reminisce of a piece of virus or a piece of spyware that was trying to shut down or to grab hold up or to compromise a VPN router like Cisco or Cisco Linksys which is owned by Cisco. They have VPN routers as well. So what I would do is I would if it really does bother you either take in and have a tech walk through the process or have somebody come to your house and do it or do it yourself. Do the step by step boot up process and watch and see if you can figure out what*s causing it. What*s in your startup group?

Lindsay: Basically just ZoneAlarm.

David Lawrence: So is ZoneAlarm setup to a look for a VPN?

Lindsay: No.
