Eddie: Yes.
David Lawrence: How can I help you sir?
Eddie: I would like to know what is the difference in the different processors like a Pentium 4 or Radeon, or Duron Sempron and so on.
David Lawrence: And so on, well first of all there are two main categories of processors. The two different companies that makes the processors, there used to be 3 or 4 now it*s just basically down to two. One of them is Intel which I am sure you have heard of.
Eddie: Yes.
David Lawrence: And then there is AMD which does not have a recognizable musical note structure.
Eddie: Oh.
David Lawrence: Now the Pentium and the Celeron are the two main chips that Intel is known for. The difference between those two is that the Pentium is their flagship chip and is upgradeable. The Celeron is their budget line chip and is not upgradeable usually it*s hardwired to the board. Those are the, beyond that it*s the typical speed and chip, a data path of 32 or 64. AMD is best known for the Athlon. The other thing that Intel has is the Xeon processor and that*s the very high-end processor usually dual processors that*s used in servers and whatnot. So those are the three main Pentium chips, the main AMD chips are the Athlon, the Duron, etc. And those chips are very similar to the Intel. But in some cases and in fact on this very machine that was out of sync time wise at the beginning of the show. This very machine runs software that actually requires that the machine have not an AMD chip in it but an Intel chip in it. So there are some differences between the two. AMD, a company that came along after Intel and reverse-engineered Intel stuff and they had lengthy battles in court over it and so on. But today if you buy a computer that has Intel in it versus AMD in it, you probably pay a little bit more for the Intel Chip but 99999 times out of 100,000 you will do just fine with either one.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
