Max Smart: Well that*s what interesting about the contest. It started off with 32 products at the PC Mag Editor*s Choice. One of the criteria was it has to shipping today. So no future products are in this initial category which kind of surprised me because this is like, here*s what*s coming this year.
David Lawrence: Well you have got to think about the fact that it takes a while for people to understand what a gadget is all about and what it does and in some cases gadgets seek their own market. In other cases like when we talked about Neat Receipts earlier this week this is really cool software that I will tell you about during the show called Neat Receipts. That was a like dah, why didn*t somebody think about this first. When you think about the Rumba for example I mean who really believes that a vacuum cleaner could do it on its own and then when you see it work it*s like oh it actually works that*s cool. So it may take a while for this products to seep into the general mass culture but at least these are the ones that people who voted online, people are voting in that room right now the applause, the Editors of PC world magazine, Robin staff and people that are here at the show have said yeah okay I get it, I get it, this could work. So give us an idea of some of the products that are in the final ten.
Max Smart: Sure. You mentioned Onstar and Rumba they were on the list of the 32 that were picked already including the VGA, PDA from Dell the first VGA based PDA, the Axim 50 and Epson printer and Logitech and it broke it down the finalist which you can go to pcmag.com and still vote on before the deadline or if you are at the show here you can go up to this week and you can help still vote, they are still voting.
David Lawrence: They are doing that now. By the time people hear this though they won*t be able to--
Max Smart: Correct that*s just for our local audience you know we have here. They have broken it down to the last 10 finalists are the Archos Video.
David Lawrence: Archos Video.
Max Smart: Right.
David Lawrence: How is it spelled?
Max Smart: It is spelled Archos.
David Lawrence: Okay good because Archos is another brand. I wanted to make sure I had the right one. So Archos its a little hand held video what?
Max Smart: Correct, player.
David Lawrence: It*s a video player.
Max Smart: I like I think of it as like a mobile, a wireless screen kind of thing.
David Lawrence: Oh okay.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
