Lin: It has to do with Verizon Wireless. They are offering for $60 or not, they are offering a Broadband Service. So I called them and.

David Lawrence: This is their wide area Broadband Service or Wireless Service, right?

Lin: What is that? Well it*s not the Wireless like I already have on my computer.

David Lawrence: No I know that.

Lin: Okay.

David Lawrence: What it is --.

Lin: That*s what I don*t understand.

David Lawrence: Okay here is, and again great question Lin. Could you just call every week please?

Lin: I will try.

David Lawrence: Because you have great questions. You have probably been seeing ads on television for what they are calling Broadband Access. That*s what the product is called and its $59.95 and they are rolling it out across the country. This is Verizon only. Now what ticks me off about this is it*s only available for Windows users because it requires a WiFi card for laptops that is only Windows compatible. There is, it says right there in the system requirements, Windows 2k and XP only. So it doesn*t apply to everybody but what it is, imagine taking what is WiFi in your home, right?

Lin: Yeah.

David Lawrence: And expanding it so that as you walked out the door and down to the neighbor*s house and then down to the end of the block and then over to the next neighborhood and then over to the next city and then over to the next suburb and all throughout the metropolitan area no matter where you went you would have that WiFi signal. It is wide area WiFi meaning the entire metropolitan area.

Lin: Meaning security is not good?

David Lawrence: No, no I mean your use is the same you would have the same problems with security and the same precautions that you would take with any other WiFi connection.

Lin: And not like, okay I have ZoneAlarm but can I use my regular ZoneAlarm for Wireless networking for protecting myself or do I have to get a special ZoneAlarm program?
