Bob: They are sold through Wal-Mart and Sam*s Club they are manufacturing all the computers. The manufacturer says that they support the hardware, they don*t support the software. Contact the software then they would say, they supply software to the manufacturer, the manufacturer should support it.

David Lawrence: Okay, so welcome to my world, and I am sure this is something you put against before, which is basically two people pointing fingers at each other.

Bob: Right.

David Lawrence: If it*s doing that you might want back to store and say can I just check to make sure that this component is correct. And I say you go back to store or to an authorized depot, because I don*t think that you local Wal-Mart or Sam*s Club is an actual place where you can find people behind the counter they can look at it. But find out where the local authorized depot is and bring it into them and have them check it out to make sure it*s the right component first, hold on one second we will talk more in a moment.

David Lawrence: The Geek Speak phrase for this hour is brought to you by macosxunwired.com; it*s a book by Tom Negrino and Dorie Smith, a complete guide to wireless information for Mac users. If you thinking of going wireless as a connection to the Internet and you are going to be using PCs or a combination of PCs and Macintosh to actually get there, then you will want this book because it will tell you what Mac OS X is capable of doing and it will help you get through some of the thorniest issues you have got. Go to macosxunwired.com. Alright this hours Geek Speak is Wikepedia. The Geek Speak actually is Firewall. This from Wikepedia and computing a Firewall is a piece of hardware of software which functions in a network environment to prevent some communications, some communications forbidden by the security policy whatever that policy is, to be stopped and some to be allowed. It has the basic task of controlling the traffic between what are called the zones of trust, different zones of trust, your computer and the Internet, your computer and another computer on your local network. One part of sub-network of your network and another sub-network of your network, one drive on one machine and another drive on the other machine, types of traffic, HTTP, TCP, UDP etc. The goal of a Firewall is to only allow the kind of communications that you want rather than anything. Usually because a rouge piece of software can send all kinds of things, E-Mail, web traffic, TCP traffic, FTP traffic through an open port if there is no Firewall in place, that*s why everybody wants go get, you want to get a Firewall if you are going to be a using a machine that*s on the Internet and lot of new routers have Firewalls built-in. Of course you have heard us mentioned ZoneAlarm it*s a software Firewall that*s terrific. It*s kind of huge now though but that*s okay, it*s the best of the Firewalls out there. And that*s what you want; you want to make sure if you are on the net you have a Firewall.
