Microsoft vs Adobe over PDF, Bennett on banning MySpace and Schmitty!

Friday, June 2, 2006: the Association for Competitive Technology's Morgan Reed, Bennett Haselton of Peacefire.org and comedian Mike Schmidt, plus calls, instant messages and emails about pop culture, the day's news and a smattering of technology...it's The David Lawrence Show for a Friday.

Tonight's notes: (?)

7pm PT:

Morgan Reed, Vice President of public affairs for the Association for Competitive Technology, joins us live from Washington DC to discuss the forming rift between Microsoft, and their desire to provide their Windows Vista users with the same functionality that we Mac users have had for some time (Save As PDF...), and the company that maintains the standards for Portable Document Format, Adobe.

8pm PT:

Bennett Haselton, publisher of Peacefire.org, joins us live from Seattle to look at the day's news, including a bill introduced into Congress to ban MySpace and social networks like it in schools as a danger to our children. Bennett, as you would expect finds this utterly reprehensible and a threat to his precious "youth rights".

9pm PT:

Mike Schmidt, writer, comedian and participant of The Scary Election Show, joins us live in studio, to look at his comedy, being on the road, the recent election and what it's like to be smarter than anyone in the room. He hopefully will give us an update on his current project, a game show for the Game Show Network, and where he stands on Last Comic Standing.
