Navizon kicks off, plus classic DirtySomethings and the Elvis Cup

Wednesday, June 20, 2007: Navizon's Cyril Houri, Margot Black of DirtySomethings and Nashville's Wade Jones, plus calls, instant messages and emails about pop culture, the day's news and a smattering of technology...it's The David Lawrence Show for a Wednesday.

Previously: David Lawrence Unplugged for 6/19/2007: the premium podcast feed of The David Lawrence Show >>
Next: Fresh Spinrite and classic Trout and WithoutABox >>

Tonight's notes: (?)

7pm PT:

Cyril Houri, founder and CEO of Navizon, joins us live from New York City to look at his new product, combining Wi-Fi, GSM/CDMA and GPS to provide p2p positioning and location services. You can not only use this to find your way around, but you can also find the typical geographical features: attractions, restaurants, theaters, gas stations, and the like. The cool thing about this system is that it auto-updates based on its users actually using the system and adding new (and taking away no longer available) hot spots and cell towers - a true, legal use of peer-to-peer technology.

8pm PT:

Margot Black, comedian and star of Dirtysomethings, joins us live in studio to talk about her show with Kate Rigg and Lisa Ann Walter (and me), at the M Bar - all girls, all dirty jokes, and what it takes to put something like that together. And yes, I'm nearly naked.

9pm PT:

Wade Jones, eBay entrepreneur and auctioner of the famous Elvis Cup and Elvis Water on eBay, joins us live to explain the auction, the cup, the water, the tour he's on now and why people are willing to pay nearly $500 for water that could very easily be tap water.
