David Lawrence: Hello there and thanks for tuning into the show I appreciate it. It is a shade past 7 past the hour. And we are back in, we are back in our home studio here and in our home town and we are glad to have actually spent 2 very, very, very jam packed days in the suburbs of National Tennessee and Murphy's Burrow Tennessee where Thursday and Friday we were there visiting and lecturing actually at Middle Tennessee State University. I had a chance to talk about Podcasting and disintermediation of traditional media. Because you know I could just say that traditional news is being competed with effectively I might add in some cases by Podcasting and online blogging and what not. But when you go and talk at a university and they are paying you the big bucks to do it you got to come up with a lot of words with a lot of syllables and the longer the title the more likely it is that they will pay your expenses and put you up at nice hotel. So I came up with a disintermediation of traditional media and that seemed to add another zero to my honorarium but at any rate we spoke with Dr. Robert Pondillo students. And for those of you those are fans of radio and have been listening to radio for a long, long time this is the guy that used to be the Real Bob James. And he is one of my oldest and dearest friends and now he is a tenured Asst. Professor at Middle Tennessee State University teaching Mass Communications. And the Podcasting thing has just gone crazy here on the show you have asked me lots and lots questions about it we do Podcast most of our radio stations including the mighty WGN in Chicago. They do Podcast now all the big media people are looking into the Podcasting as a way of distributing along with their traditional methods. And that came up a couple times as well so we spoke on that and while we were there Bob and his lovely wife Edie actually picked us up from the airport and mentioned that they have brought their computer into a local computer shop. I believe it was CompuMax and they were going to stop by and see what was wrong with their computer. The screen kept shutting down every so often. And usually that's a sign of a bad power supplier whatever you know we talk about this all the time on the air you know what could possible be wrong. Well we went to this little store it*s little hole-in-the-wall store after the side lot of gaming stuff on the wall. So right away I was concerned and I didn't say who I was what I did for a living or what and I just listened to their explanation which included oddly enough the words registry and Windows 98 in the same sense. So I stopped the conversation as they were you know this two nick the computer guy kind of guys were telling Bob and Edie just a load on what was up with their machine and $99 to fix the system.ini file and reinstall some drivers. And I said you know what I am hungry can we just go and do this afterwards and apparently they had heard this line before

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
