David: Well I can burn a single layer at.
David Lawrence: Right but not Dual-Layer, Dual-Layer requires, a driver requires different mechanisms, requires different way of control of laser burning mechanism, I am not sure that iDVD is capable of doing that. Now mastering software maybe but I am not sure that iDVD is compatible and in general when you purchase this device that it come with Mac Drivers?
David: No do not; it was made for the Mac however we just, what you called like a Barebones or whatever it is?
David Lawrence: Yeah I am not sure that you can count on that you know I don*t know that Apple has step forward with any Dual-Layer or Multi-Layer format at this point.
David: Yes I believe the new iMax and actually the newer Max if you code iDVD now it does recognize and now I know if there is the Apple put in that.
David Lawrence: Internal drives?
David: Yes.
David Lawrence: Internal drives yes but then Apple is notorious for making their stuff recognizable and 3rd party stuff not recognize, but remember when you use to format an Apple drive and you would loose the flag on the drive that said this is an Apple and all the sudden the disutility wouldn*t work with it anymore?
David: Right.
David Lawrence: So you know I don*t know what to do here I would call 1800 SOS Apple or call the manufacturer and say is this actually going to work with iDVD, but its not something that I have run across so.
David: Either I though Apple was installing these 1O8 drives or 109, or 107 I pick whichever one but you know I thought pioneer was kind of tune the drives, and its upgrading and its not working CD and everything but it just doesn*t recognize the Dual-Layer part.
David Lawrence: That*s why I like saying Apple uses you know Toshiba as their hard drive supplier or uses you know Yamahas their hard drive supplier. I should be able to use a Toshiba or an IBM or Yamaha Hard Drive and have it recognized as an Apple drive, no. They use those companies as OEMs so the stuff that they put out is different from their standard retail fair.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
