Rick: Hi David how are you?

David Lawrence: I am fine how are you sir?

Rick: I need permission to buy a new computer.

David Lawrence: Ah you need a slip from me or something?

Rick: Yeah well I am really kind of think that trying into the fact whether I want so I will get a Mac or another Dell PC which I had before.

David Lawrence: Okay.

Rick: My last one was real Dell Inspiron 7000 with a big O 6 Gig hard drive. And things have gone far away since then.

David Lawrence: Yeah that must be like a 5-6 year old machine?

Rick: Yes it is.

David Lawrence: Yeah so now here*s the question from me. You are thinking of going over to a Mac is it because you like the way they look? You have played with a couple and you like the way they work? Or is it that all that sunk costing in software that you have you really don*t care about you looking to just simply get a new machine and you want to get the best one you can?

Rick: I want to get the best one I can, I want to be able to load all my music CDs into my computer. Being a truck driver that way I can carry them with me a lot easier.

David Lawrence: Alright let me ask you a practical question about being a truck driver. I know there is a lot of software for truckers for getting loads and figuring your logs and staying in compliance with hours and so on that only runs on Windows. Do you run any of that software?

Rick: I really like the Microsoft Streets & Trips software.

David Lawrence: Okay then if that*s the case and you have already got a copy of it I would you know iTunes on your brand spanking new Dell would still work fantastically. And if you want to eventually someday get an iPod to go with iTunes well that*s great. You know if that*s the software that you use and you may be willing to get into other software later on that*s only on the Window side of things then I would consider doing that. If there are lot*s of other options for a mapping software some of which are available for Macintosh I would look at that category and say okay go over to Google for example and say mapping software GPS, Macintosh and there are quite a few. You know and see what you think some of them interface with the Garmin some of them interface with other devices and they work on Macintosh. So I would look at those first before I jumped over to Mac since you depend on that for your business. If all things rego and you really didn*t have any Vertical Software that was keyed specifically in Windows right so hey yeah let*s get a Mac for you and because you will love it. It will be great, the sound is great, the interface is fabulous you will love there are a lot of truckers who are using Mac as long as they are not using that specialized Vertical Software that*s only for Windows machines.
