Every year, Pasadena, California becomes the center of the universe for a few hours. The Rose Parade, the precursor to college football's Rose Bowl, attracts network television coverage, the rapt attention of marching band aficianados and enough flowers to cover Colorado Avenue.
The Rose Parade happens every New Years' Day, in a suburb of Los Angeles called Pasadena. Preparations begin almost the day after the last parade, and local civic organizations treat this happening like Texas treats high school football.

A feverish collision of avant-garde aesthetics and grind-house shocks (not to mention a direct influence on Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange), Funeral Parade of Roses takes us on an electrifying journey into the nether-regions of the late-'60s Tokyo underworld. In Toshio Matsumoto's controversial debut feature, seemingly nothing is taboo: neither the incorporation of visual flourishes straight from the worlds of contemporary graphic-design, painting, comic-books, and animation; nor the unflinching depiction of nudity, sex, drug-use, and public-toilets. But of all the "transgressions" here on display, perhaps one in particular stands out the most: the film's groundbreaking and unapologetic portrayal of Japanese gay subculture. Special Features: Great-looking new transfer from the director's personal print, full length audio commentary by the director Toshio MATSUMOTO, 30 minute video interview with director Toshio MATSUMOTO, new and improved optional English subtitles, 28-page booklet featuring a new essay by musician Jim O'Rourke.

In "Dirty Jobs" host Mike Rowe assumes the duties of various dirty jobs, working along side with average folks doing extraordinarily dirty work that simply must be done. In "Parade Float Dismantler", Mike is hired to dismantle floats from the Tournament of Roses Parade. Floats are made of flowers and fruit that have been rotting for weeks in a hot warehouse. It's a dirty job that will forever change the way you look at parades. In "Garbage Pit Technician", Mike teams up with a group of garbage collectors that convert trash into electricity. It's a smelly proposition that has him up to his knees in other people's garbage but in the end he learns that some dirty jobs are helping to preserve the environment.

• Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
While I was watching Perfume: The Story of a Murderer one thought kept going through my mind: who in their right mind would have green lit this film? Its art direction, lush production, gorgeous costumes, and A-list cast easily place its budget in the 50-60 million dollar range, so someone expected a significant return. That they thought an audience existed that would turn out in enough numbers to warrant their investment boggles my mind. Perfume has too much Arthouse in it to appeal to the

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
