David Lawrence: Okay so DeLorme what is it called street atlas. DeLorme may or may not be aware of any sort of additions or enhancements that you put on your machine. If getting the data off the hard drive is the bottleneck, which I am not quite sure if it is, then it might help but it also might help to get a machine that's a little bit faster if in fact it*s drawing those maps in memory. But I am not and again you know that you can put two drives in the machine that you are looking at or you don*t know what machine to get yet?
Arthur: Well I was looking online and my wife picked up the computer shopper and went looking into there. I have a Toshiba Satellite with a 17-inch screen, it*s 2.4 with half gigaram, right now. What I found online at ibuypower with a 3.2 gigahertz processor with 1 Gigaram 256 Meg video card and the option to use two different hard drives in the unit.
David Lawrence: And this is what brand?
Arthur: It*s ibuypower.com.
David Lawrence: So that's the brand of the computer?
Arthur: Well I spoke with them and they take basically I believe it*s a Philips Magnavox frame and they fill it with their components.
David Lawrence: So that right away is a red flag for me I don*t know about you Maxwell.
Max: Yeah. Well I mean it sounds like they are going to use like the CD Rom drive for that second hard drive so you are going to be limited to speed there anyway.
David Lawrence: I mean you are going to give something up to put a second drive in a laptop and I don*t think that in a long run given what you will have to give up in terms of just simple usefulness on the machine that you will be happy with making both drives available at the expense of having the CD Rom drive or something like that. So I am not quite sure as, --. Yeah I guess we do. I don*t know if he liked your answer Maxwell. I am not sure are you there?
Max: I am here yeah.
David Lawrence: Alright Maxwell Smart from the Family Tech Show. You can hear them on selective radio stations across the country as well Maxwell and Victoria talking about family technology and I will be with this Consumer Electronic Show, thanks.
Max: Thank you.
David Lawrence: Back in a moment.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
