The Geek Speak for this hour is MAC Adress. Now, a MAC Address is a unique code that*s given to computers, routers, networking equipment that identifies them to the Internet, to software, to hardware, etc. and it is supposed to be completely unique. All machines completely unique MAC Addresses and it is physically stored inside the computer. It is a hardware thing, not a software thing it is not like an IP address, which can be assigned by your Internet service provider. A MAC Address is keyed to the machine that it belongs to. So your computer has a MAC Address, your router has a MAC Address, your DSL or Cable Box has a MAC Address. That*s what, that is all about and it is designed so that one can actually look back and check which machine is something was done on. If the software reads the MAC Address, which things like Word do, that*s how they found the Malaysian virus writer. That*s what that MAC Address is all about and it is something that you should be aware of because Ethernet uses it, Bluetooth uses it, 802.11 uses it. They are all there, that is it. MAC Address, that is this hours Geek Speak. And by the way we have a new section on the website for all of the Geek Speaks that we do on the show. If you go to onlinetonight.com or davidlawreceshow.com you will see the link for Geek speak right there.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
