David Lawrence: Hey how*s it going? Thanks for tuning into the show, I appreciate it very much. As you heard the young lady say this is Online Tonight, my name is David Lawrence. Let me give you the toll free telephone number right off the back, it is very easy to remember our toll free telephone number because it rhymes when you say it, it*s 180039 Online that*s 18003966546. Lines are open right now if you want to talk to me about technology, pop culture, entertainment. The way we use our computers, the Internet, websites, our portable devices, our cell phones, our PDAs if you want to talk to me about Podcasting, if you want to talk to me about mp3s online investing, getting rid of spam, getting rid of pop up ads, I mean the list of the things that we talk about on this show is exhaustive. But it is so pervasive in our lives, I mean you know you have got families, you have got friends some of them are very well-versed in technologies, some of them are not. And you feel for both of them I mean you know some of them they talk over your head you just you are confused by them. And the ones that don*t get what*s going on with technology, the ones that are taken in by technology you got to feel for them as well. We try to help people like that out here on the show. So if you are new to technology, or if you have just sort of been waiting until technology was easier, I am sorry, it*s not necessarily getting easier, in fact it*s getting more and more difficult these days to stay up-to-date with all the things that are going on with technology. All the ways to protect yourself from being taken advantage of, your identity being stolen, pop-up ads, spam, phishing, E-mails. If you are an eBay user there is a brand new threat where it you know we have seen somethings happen in the world of viruses and in password phishing which is when you get a piece of E-mail it looks very, very real. And you are told oh there is a problem with our server please go login and check everything out you know we are going to have shut down your account if you don*t. A lot of people have seen these they are getting more and more savvy to what they look like. Well now these goofballs that are doing these hacks have figured out a way to do the password phishing and still take you to the actual homepage of eBay. Remember when you could say okay I won't get a virus in E-mail if I don*t open up an E-mail from someone I don*t know. And then you know virus writers learn how to spoof E-mail addresses so that it look like you were getting it from somebody that you know. Well now password phishing has been taken to a whole new level, check this out, a flaw has been discovered on eBay*s website that would have allowed fraudsters to successfully redirect the sign-on process to a phishing site even though you are going right to eBay. Netcraft which is a British Anti-phishing outfit, reports that the scam starts with fraudster sending E-mails asking eBay users to update their accounts. So far pretty normal for a phishing software, it*s like those other fake eBay E-mails currently one of the phishing world*s most persistent lines of attack. But here*s the twist the link provided was genuine. And it leads you to the eBay sign-in page, which is www.signin.ebay.com the problem is there is an open relay or was I think they probably corrected it by now, but who knows. There was an open relay at one of their sub-servers www.servlet.ebay.com. And so if there was a special set, a special set of digits and numbers at the end of this link that they provided you with, in this E-mail, it would send you to this other site. So it*s just, ok I feel your paying in and I am here to help, if I can help you in anyway please feel free to pick up the phone and give me call. 180039 Online 18003966546 let*s call it ladies night we will start with Colleen, hey Colleen you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence hello.
Colleen: Hi David how are you?
David Lawrence: I am fine thank you for asking.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
