David Lawrence: Well I thank you very much. I appreciate that. That is exactly what I say at the beginning of every one of the 10 quick step guides as well. Every time I write a 10 quick steps guide and I am actually finishing up 10 quick steps to Podcasting, it*s because I can*t spend an hour giving you all the details that fill in all of the topic to make it right for you. With backing up you need to understand why complete backups and incremental backups are important versus Snapshots versus Ghosting what all those things mean, what hardware to get, what software to get. If I actually went through the whole process for you I wouldn*t take any phone calls. And that*s not fair to the people that are calling in. Same thing with Podcasting I got an E-mail here from phizimusic is I love the Podcast but I don*t get this RSS thing, I don*t get you know how I record and how I save it and how do I get it in mp3. Well that*s why I did the 10 quick steps guides. Because I couldn*t spend the time on the air with all the calls actually going through the process with enough details that you understand what*s going on. So and I appreciate Robert sort of verifying that that's my, now look I am not against making money that's why I am here, that's what keeps me on the air. But certainly I am hoping that you get much more value out of a 10 quick steps guide than the $20 that it costs. And if you don*t there is always the money back guarantee. I have given exactly 12 $20 bills back to people in the 3 years that I have had the site up and running. So I am very proud of that. 180039 online is our telephone number 18003966546. Tom you are Online Tonight with David Lawrence and by the way there have been over 10,000 customers there so out of 10,000 customers, 12 refunds that*s a pretty good ratio. How can I help you sir?
Tom: Yes I got a new computer in the firm. And all you know software for protection was on it its run out. It had been, it was McAfee. I have been getting E-mails advertising to renew that. Talking to friends they say well you know Norton, Adaware and the Antivirus is good. And I just have a Dialup system our service and I was just wondering you know what--.
David Lawrence: Well that doesn*t stop you from getting most of viruses. If you go around the web and if you get E-mail whether it*s via dialup or via a persistent connection, a broadband connection you still are at risk. And I would offer a third option and that is the Antivirus software that I recommend and that*s called Panda.
Tom: Yeah I have had that written down.
David Lawrence: And you can go to www.pandachallenge.com. There you can get a free online scan. They will actually connect into your computer doing online scan of your hard drive, let you know if there is any issues going on there.
Tom: Yeah I think McAfee said something about doing that too.
David Lawrence: Right. I do not recommend McAfee.
Tom: You do not.
David Lawrence: I do not recommend McAfee nor do I recommend TrendMicro, the two that I recommend Panda first then Norton.
Tom: Then Norton, okay. Now what do I need doing with the dialup? Do I need a firewall? Do I*
David Lawrence: There is no, there should be no difference between how you handle a dialup connection and a persisting connection none whatsoever.
Tom: Okay.
David Lawrence: You should use a firewall. If you are on the net, you still are subject to the potential infection of a piece of software that could start to send data out of your machine. A firewall is not about necessarily data coming into your machine, it*s about stopping data from leaving your machine. So it doesn*t matter whether it*s a dialup or not alright.
Tom: Yeah.
David Lawrence: I appreciate the call. Joe.
Joe: Yeah.
David Lawrence: Hang on for me. We are going to take you during the Podcast okay?
Joe: Okay.
David Lawrence: Alright hold on back in the moment.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
