David Lawrence: I think you are over thinking this.
Jay: Okay.
David Lawrence: There are firewalls available for PDAs but I don*t believe they are necessary. I don*t think I have ever heard of anyone being attacked where a firewall would matter via WiFi on a PDA. Most attacks start looking for Windows immediately or jump through on Windows and not just Windows mobile I mean you need the all the hooks of Windows XP with 2.0 installed with Upgrade Pack 2.0 installed. I wouldn*t worry so much about that.
Jay: Yeah because they have Window 2000 CE. So I have access to Excel and Word and another such document and that has an expandable slot of up to 1 Gig. So I was wondering if I were to ever download certain things game or documents, I really want to--.
David Lawrence: I wouldn*t worry about it I mean I really wouldn*t even go looking for it and if you want to play with one I am sure you will be super protected but I don*t think its some days you know you worry about this not when you have a PDA not when you have a Macintosh you worry about this when you have a Windows XP Box or a Windows 98 or a Windows 2K or ME Box you don*t usually have to worry about those sort of things. And I will tell you why because most people that are looking to exploit you are looking to be famous for it. Right and they are not going to get very famous by exploiting a PDA. Now one area where you can be exploited is and there is a book there called Aggressive Network Self-Defense which actually talks about being compromised via PDA. You might want to read that.
Jay: Okay.
David Lawrence: But all that means is turn off your WiFi when you are not using it don*t let people jump on make sure it*s encrypted and all that. It has nothing to do with putting on firewalls. Back in a moment.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
