David Lawrence: Alright the Geek Speak phrase for this hour is default and we look at that in just a moment. This portion of the show brought to you by Sonic Memo that*s the little audio buttons that you will see on our website that either www.onlinetonight.com or www.thedavidlawrenceshow.com and if you want to add instant audio to your site just like we have for our random audio samples where it just starts playing there is no downloading there is no you know you know buffering or streaming it just starts to play. Just click on the link next to any one of those buttons it says how do we do that you will get the load on Sonic Memo. You can also visit www.onlinetonight.com/sonicmemo. So default, what is default? When your computer, your software, your other devices are shipped to you with the settings already in place those are called default settings. How wide the margin should be in a word processing program. 1.25 inches on the left 0.5 inches on the right where files go on your hard drive usually the same place that your application document route is. When to back up files the desktop pattern and so on. Now these settings are called default. It*s what it comes with but you can change them and your equipment and software will always use them unless you do change them. Now smart companies make default settings the ones that protect the user for example, if a file already exists in a particular folder and you attempt to save a file with the name of that folder in that folder the default button the one that you click on simply as a Return or Enter key is pressed it is set as Cancel. That way you can inadvertently destroy an older file by simply typing a file name and doing something natural like getting return you also might get interrogatory that says that file already exists, would you like to replace it and instead of the default being okay the default is cancelled. You have to overtly reach your hand over, put it on the mouse, slide the mouse over to the OK button and click it. The default is not just the settings that chip with it but a way of setting the operating system up so that you don*t hurt yourself inadvertently. Default that*s what that is and that is this hours* Geek Speak. It*s brought to you by the Fantasy Music League and the brand new Fantasy Music League Referral Program it*s now up and running. If you are registered FML player vying for your share of $25,000 in cash and prizes for creating your fantasy record label and running it like an industry pro you can now make cash just for referring your friends and family to play in the Fantasy Music League Game and you could make money if their friends play too, two levels of referral income in the Fantasy Music League. For details go to www.fantasymusicleague.com.
David Lawrence: 23 minutes past the hour 180039 online that*s our telephone number 18003966546 Rene. You are Online Tonight with David Lawrence. Hello.
Rene: Hi.
David Lawrence: Hi.
Rene: I had a question about I am trying to make a presentation and I made a little presentation iMovie with still photos and you know I put some music underneath it and I saved it as a little Quick Time Movie. But I would like to do it and save it as like a Full DVD and I don*t have an internal DVD burner I have an external you know Firewire what can extract to it. So I got I installed the iVoice package which includes iDVD so when I go to burn a DVD it says you don*t have iDVD because it won*t install iDVD because I don*t have an internal burner.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
