David Lawrence: Alright here is what the a cappella sounds like. So Podcast jingle what*s that all about, ah? What*s that? Here we go everybody. Something goes in here. Remember when you are growing up and you heard that. It*s you know what I'm a jingle freak I love jingles and so Podcasting is just a great outlook for me. And I will explain how to do Podcast and how we do our Podcasts and how you can do your own Podcast. We will do that coming up little later in the hour, it will say that the next hour but either way we will get to it before the show is over. All the lines are filled right now, let*s get back to the phones. Alexander you are on Online Tonight with David Lawrence, hello
Alexander: Yes I was curious, I was surfing a website and I actually I was surfing that Tell Me website if you have heard of Tell Me it*s a great Voice Portal Service.
David Lawrence: Well Tell Me actually is the people that handles 800-555-1212.
Alexander: Yeah the directory assistance.
David Lawrence: Right.
Alexander: And I came across something called VXML, they actually have a number 1800555 VXML I am curious what the hack VXML is?
David Lawrence: The V in VXML stands for Voice, the XML in XML in VXML stands for the same thing it stands for in any other variant of XML and that*s Extensible Markup Language. XML to begin with is a build your own Markup Language, language. HTML is Hyper Text Markup Language, SGML Standard Generalized Markup Language. These are all things that are very, very clearly defined with standards. XML says hey whatever your standards are, whatever you want to do, whatever you want to come up with, here is the construct go to town and VXML is one flavor that has been created overtime for people who work in voice recognition, who work in IVR which is Interactive Voice Response that*s what I do during the week. You hear my voice on America Online before you hear a live person. I'm the one that answers you not only at America Online but about a 150 other companies around the world.
Alexander: Are you the Sony VR, person that does Max?

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets. (not those assets), my ability to make a CAT5 cable Ethernet cable, type (those of you in the chat room-shut up!) and work a phone system.
