David Lawrence: And people don*t know that during a storm you not only unplug the computer but you also unplug the modem from the wall or the DSL or the cable modem from the wall because you can damage that just as quickly as you can damage or faster than you can damage your machine. So--

Karin: Okay, so www.grc.com.

David Lawrence: Right, www.grc.com that*s where you can SpinRite and another product that you can use is called Norton utilities. And it has something on it called Disk Doctor which actually goes and does the same thing. Now Steve Gibson is a good friend he has been on the show lots of times he provides tests for users to make sure that they are safe on the net. So his site is a good site to know to begin with. And his product runs great so that*s what I would recommend and then once you find out if it*s the drive or not. If it is in the drive then we have to look at other options but it sounds an awful lot like that might be the case.

Karin: David I appreciate your help so much.

David Lawrence: My pleasure thanks for calling.

Karin: Have a goodnight thank you.

David Lawrence: You too.

Karin: Bye, bye.

David Lawrence: Bye, bye. 18003966546, 180039 online, let me get to some instant messages here and don*t forget after the show, after we do the show every night, we do the Podcast which is free to download. I know it costs a little bit of money to download the show after the fact and that*s because we have bandwidth cost that we have to handle. But the Podcast is free, it*s 10 minutes and I am actually going to share with you some recent E-mail that I have gotten on stuff. And the stuff we talked about on our last week show. Instant message here and I have no idea how to pronounce this I am going to go with Leegotage. But second things first for a cool site checkout www.confabulator.com. Well check it out quickly because it was just purchased by Yahoo. So it*s going to be part of Yahoo*s game site. We have been using Confabulator and the Confabulator widgets on my Macintosh for a long, long time there is a great game called Crash that I play with Confabulator. Anyway, the question from Leegogate or Ligogate is hi David what*s the quickest way to take Windows Media recorded TV content, edit the video, clip out unwanted bits and burn it to DVD? The best way to do that is to use software called a Adobe Premier Elements, it*s a 99 bucks and it is all the most used features of a Adobe Premier which is a much more expensive program but it*s very easy to use. Adobe has done that with Photoshop and they have done with the Adobe Premier, their Elements series is sort of the entry level version of some of their very, very high-end tools and it will just you know take the data converted to a raw video footage and raw audio, suck it into premier elements and then do your editing and then burn the DVD. That*s it back in a moment.
