David Lawrence: Alright. I appreciate the call. Chris you are online tonight with David Lawrence hello.

Chris: How are you doing?

David Lawrence: I am doing okay.

Chris: Good. I had Yahoo Instant Messenger on my machine and I went to the add/remove programs to get rid of it but yet there are still bits and pieces stored around. As for example when I log on or when I power up my machine, couple of windows come up for instant messaging, I close them and a little smiley face guy is still on the toolbar. I just want to know how I can get rid of everything that has to do with.

David Lawrence: There maybe a separate program. Here*s one way that people can do this, is the reinstall the program and then uninstall it again. That's one way the people, because usually what it will do is it will say oh okay you have already got those components in there, they are the ones that I am looking for. I won*t reinstall it or I will write over them and then immediately uninstall it because what can happen is your file system, the preference files whatever files it uses to keep track of all of its bits and pieces get lost and so it doesn*t, it can*t keep track of all of them.

Chris: Alright.

David Lawrence: So try that. Try uninstalling and reinstalling and also send Email to www.support@yahoo.com and say hey you know this isn*t getting rid of the quick start application for Yahoo IM. You can also Google rid Yahoo IM, delete Yahoo IM you know those are the paths I take. I don*t use Yahoo IM so I don*t know if it's a good citizen or a bad citizen normally about when you want to get rid of it but that's what I would do alright.

Chris: Sounds good. Thanks.

David Lawrence: Alright I appreciate the call. Gives us an open line 180039 online 18003966546, Mike you are online tonight with David Lawrence hello.

Mike: Hey David.

David Lawrence: Hi there.

Mike: I have got a problem.

David Lawrence: Okay.

Mike: My hard drive due to about 5 power failures in about 3 hours crashed miserably.

David Lawrence: So you have a backup right?
