By: Jamie Reidy
List Price: $19.95
Amazon Price: $5.09
Product Description
Jamie Reidy is to the pharmaceutical business what Jerry Maguire was to professional sports and Frank Abagnale (Catch Me If You Can) was to bank fraud. He's the guy who's been there, done that, and walked away with the insider stories. You'll find yourself rooting for Reidy and at the same time, you'll be shocked by the realities of the world that paid his salary.
Hard Sell is a witty expos© of an industry that touches nearly everyone in contemporary America. It reveals the questionable practices of drug reps, nurses, and even physicians. Reidy traces his ups and downs as a rep for giant drug manufacturer Pfizer, maker of some of the most widely prescribed and used drugs in existence, including Viagra.
With equal parts self-confidence and self-mockery, Reidy tells it like it is in the drug-selling trenches that are our local doctors' offices. The result is a funny and fascinating book that will appeal to those with pharmaceutical sales experience, medical professionals, those who have tried Viagra, and any American unhappy with rising drug prices. Hard Sell will be an easy sale this season.

The most comprehensive guide to natural, safe, and permanent cures for impotence. * One of Europe's leading sex therapists introduces psychological and sexual techniques that can help the more than 30 million men who suffer from impotence. * Emphasizes holistic cures that treat body, mind, and spirit, including herbal remedies, homeopathy, yoga, aromatherapy, and diet changes.
When Viagra burst on the scene in 1998 it became the best-selling drug of all time, surpassing even Prozac. More than 30 million men suffer from impotence, and the introduction of a pill that could solve their problems revolutionized the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Or did it? Viagra has now been implicated in more than 69 deaths, as well as heart attacks, hypertension, color blindness, and other health problems, and more and more evidence shows that impotence can rarely be cured by a "magic pill." In fact, taking Viagra may end up accentuating the greater underlying problem of which the impotence is a symptom, whether it be lack of physical well-being, poor psychological health, or relationship difficulties.
For those men who wish to avoid the risks of Viagra, The Viagra Alternative offers the most up-to-date information on natural, safe, and long-term cures for impotence. Recognizing that a healthy sex life is impossible without physical, mental, and emotional well-being, Dr. Marc Bonnard focuses on healing the whole person with treatments ranging from herbs such as ginkgo, ginseng, saw palmetto, and yohimbe to homeopathy, acupuncture, diet, yoga exercises, aromatherapy, and the introduction of new sexual techniques. Dr. Bonnard places special emphasis on relationship therapy, demonstrating that more often than not an enjoyable sex life can be restored without resorting to chemicals or supplements of any kind. By exploring the range of options outlined in The Viagra Alternative, men need no longer rely on a dangerous little pill to improve their sexual lives.

Product Description
The stories behind drug discovery are fascinating, full of human and scientific interest. This is a book on the history of drug discovery that highlights the intellectual splendor of discoverers as well as the human frailty associated them. History is replete with examples of breakthrough medicines that have saved millions of lives. Ether as an anesthetic by Morton; penicillin as an antibiotic by Fleming; and insulin as an anti-diabetic by Banting are just a few examples. The discoverers of these medicines are doubtlessly benefactors to mankind--for instance, without penicillin, 75% of us probably would not be alive because some of our parents or grandparents would have succumbed to infections.
Dr. Jack Li, a medicinal chemist who is intimately involved with drug discovery, has assembled an astounding amount of facts and information behind important drugs through extensive literature research and interviews with many inventors of the drugs including Viagra and Lipitor. There have been many myths and inaccuracies associated with those legendary drugs. The inventors perspectives afforded this book an invaluable accuracy and insight because history is not history unless it is true.
The text is supplemented by many anecdotes, pictures and postage stamps. Both specialist and layman will find Laughing Gas, Viagra, and Lipitor informative and entertaining. Students in chemistry, pharmacy, and medicine, workers in healthcare and high school science teachers will find this book most useful.

By: Abraham Morgentaler
List Price: $26.95
Amazon Price: $5.95
Product Description
In The Viagra Myth Dr. Abraham Morgentaler (a practicing urologist on the faculty of Harvard Medical School) shows us that while Viagra has proved enormously helpful to many men, it has also uncovered previously ignored aspects of identity and authenticity in sexuality and relationships. Some men, for example, may fear telling their partner they are using Viagra, yet still struggle with the hope of being loved for their true self. Women who discover their partner has resorted to a secret sexual enhancer may complain, "I thought it was me who turned you on . . ." Viagra may improve a man's sexual abilities, but there may also be a profound cost involved.
If you or your partner is using or considering Viagra, or even if you are only wondered what it might be like to have a better sex life, this book is essential reading. It will provide insight and instruction about the reality of quick-fix solutions, sexuality, personal growth, and meaningful relationships.

Amazon Price: $19.80
Product Description
Since its introduction in 1998, Viagra has launched a new kind of sexual revolution. Quickly becoming one of the most sought after drugs in history, the little blue pill created a sea change within the pharmaceutical industry?from how drugs could be marketed to the types of drugs put into development?as well as the culture at large. Impotency is no longer an embarrassing male secret; now it is called "erectile dysfunction," and is simply something to "ask your doctor" about. And over 16 million men have.
The Rise of Viagra is the first book to detail the history and the vast social implications of the Viagra phenomenon. Meika Loe argues that Viagra has changed what qualifies as normal sex in America. In the quick-fix, pill-for-everything culture that Viagra helped to create, erections can now be had by popping a pill, making sex on demand, regardless of age or infirmity, and, potentially, for the rest of one's life.
Drawing on interviews with men who take the drug, their wives, doctors and pharmacists as well as scientists and researchers in the field, this fascinating account provides an intimate history of the drug's effect on America. Loe also examines the quest for the female Viagra, the impact of the drug around the world, the introduction of new erection drugs, like Levitra and Cialis, and the rapid growth of the multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical industry.
This wide-ranging book explains how this medical breakthrough and cultural phenomenon have forever changed the meaning of sex in America.

After a 30 year career on radio in markets from New York to San Francisco to satellite and network, David H. Lawrence XVII decided to make a change. He hung up his headphones and retired from hosting 3 network/satellite radio shows to head to Los Angeles, to concentrate solely on acting in front of the camera.
Lili VonSchtupp* needed a fresh start. She moved to Washington DC and got her dream job. "I did affiliate relations for Online Tonight with David Lawrence. I slowly worked my way into the producer's chair by impressing David with my assets.
